Április az Autizmus Tudatosság hónapja, amely arra hivatott, hogy felhívja a világ figyelmét erre a spektrumzavarra, amely közel 70 millió embert érint a Földön. Habár az autizmus az érintettek számát tekintve az egyik leggyorsabban növekvő számú idegi-fejlődési rendellenesség, mégis sokak számára nem ismert. Ebben a hónapban többek között a cél az, kifejezzük együttérzésünket azon családok számára, akik Autizmussal élnek és egy aprócska fényt hozzunk az életükbe.

Ehhez kapcsolódóan április utolsó hetében több mint 200 szerző és blogger fog össze, könyveket és egyéb dolgokat aukcióra felajánlva a második LIFT 4 Autism kampány keretében. Az ebből befolyó összeg közvetlenül a Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) nemzetközi, non-profit jótékonysági szervezethez kerül, amely célja az autizmussal élő családok oktatása, képesítése és támogatása, illetve további erőfeszítésük a TACA ösztöndíj program, amely az orvosi és terápiás költségek ellensúlyozásában nyújt segítséget.

Az Autizmus Tudatosság Hónapja keretén belül, most 3+1 olyan romantikus könyvet választottam, amely érinti az autizmus témáját. Egytől egyig csodálatos könyvek, és ezekről fogom elhozni nektek az értékelésemet az elkövetkező két hétben. Ez alkalomból Ginger Scott: How We Deal With Gravity, Amber L. Johnson: Puddle Jumping és A. Meredith Walters: Reclaiming the Sand könyveit választottam.

A plusz egy könyvként pedig Amy Harmon: The Song of David című csodálatos regényét hoztam el nektek, amelyről az értékelésem már a korábbiakban felkerült a blogra. A The Song of David egy gyönyörű és nagyon különleges történet, amely kérdés nélkül a hat csillagos kedvencek közé került. Az autizmus témáját a főszereplőlány, Millie öccse kapcsán érinti a kötet, és őszintén megmelengette a szívemet, ahogy az írónő bemutatta Tag és Millie kapcsolatát Henry-vel. <3

April is Autism Awareness month, shining a global light on the condition an estimated 3 million people in the United States and 70 million people in the world live with every day. 1 in every 68 American children. 1 in every 42 boys. Though Autism is the fastest growing developmental disability, affecting this many, for those outside looking in, it often remains a mystery. This month we hope to shine light and spread compassion for families living with Autism.

In addition to raising awareness, we also want to take action. This is the second LIFT 4 Autism campaign, rallying the romance reading community around this cause. More than 200 authors and bloggers are partnering with this effort, many donating books and other items to an auction the last week of April. Proceeds from this auction will go directly to the charitable partner, Talk About Curing Autism (TACA), a national non-profit organization dedicated to educating, empowering and supporting families affected by autism. Specifically, our efforts will benefit families served through TACA’s scholarship program to offset medical and therapy costs.

On the occasion of Autism Awareness Month I chose 3+1 romance books which touches the topic of autism. All of these book are amazing and I will bring my review of them in the next two weeks. These book are: How We Deal With Gravity by Ginger Scott, Puddle Jumping by Amber L. Johnson and Reclaiming the Sand by A. Meredith Walters.

My chosen plus one book is The Song of David by Amy Harmon, and my review about this amazing story has already been posted before. This is one of the most beautiful stories I’ve ever read! It’s so unique and astonishing and it unquestionably became a 6 stars favorite for me. The story touches the subject of autism through the heroine, Millie’s brother, and Tag and Millie’s relationship with Henry truly warmed my heart. <3
