Véleményem a könyvről

Na, ilyen egy ötcsillagos könyv! Hihetetlen módon magához láncolt, a rejtélyekkel, az ellentmondásokkal, a karakterekkel, a szívfájdalommal és a mérhetetlen érzelmek sorával, amelyek ebből a könyvből áradtak. Ismeritek azt a típusú könyvet, aminél a puzzle darabkák szépen felsorakoznak az asztalon, de folyamatosan azt érzitek, hogy még mindig nem látjátok át, hogy mi hova fog kerülni? Na, ez pontosan az a könyv! Végig kattogott az agyam, hogy melyik elem hova fog illeszkedni a történet végén.

A könyv hihetetlenül jól van felépítve és ezáltal a történet gyönyörű ívet kapott. Vannak fejezetek, amelyek a múltban játszódnak, vannak fejezetek, amelyek a jelenben és néha-néha a fejezetek közé be van szúrva egy-egy rendőrségi jelentés. Nagyon érdekesen és titokzatosan épült fel a story. Először a prológusban megismerünk egy kislányt és a legjobb barátját, akikhez idővel hozzácsapódik az új szomszéd fiú. Ők hárman, Charlotte aka Charlie, Joey és Jase a legjobb barátok lesznek és valami eszméletlenül aranyos kalandokat élnek át a kis faházukban és a suliban. Róluk szólnak a múltban játszódó fejezetek, amiket egyszerűen imádtam! Igazából ezekből a fejezetekből tudjuk meg, hogy milyenek a körülmények otthon a gyerekeknél, mennyire nagyon erős a barátság közöttük, hogy Charlie imád rajzolni és olvashatunk az első szerelem kialakulásáról is.

Közben a jelenben Charlie már 24 éves és egy tetováló szalont vezet New Yorkban. Az életének ezen része nagyon klassznak tűnik, de közben érezzük, hogy egyáltalán nem boldog. Van egy olyan pasija, akit én személy szerint már vagy százszor úgy kidobtam volna – úgy, hogy a lába sem éri a földet. Igazából nincs senki, aki igazán szoros kapcsolatban lenne vele, és a felszínen túl teljesen be van zárkózva a kis világába. Eközben folyamatosan kapjuk a csepegtetett infókat arról, hogy valami történt a múltban, ami miatt 17 évesen megváltozott az élete, és ami miatt elveszítette két legjobb barátját Joey-t és Jase-t, így már a kapcsolatot sem tartja velük. Közben viszont sms-ezik egy „J” nevű valakivel, akit nem tudunk, hogy ki (Joey, Jase vagy valaki más?), és közben azt sem tudjuk, hogy a rendőrségi jelentések, hogyan fognak kapcsolódni a történethez.

Igazából végig fenntartotta az érdeklődésemet ez a könyv, nagyon-nagyon jól és igényesen van megírva, a főszereplőket pedig nagyon megszerettem. Eszméletlen, hogy milyen mély érzelmeket tudott átadni az írónő. A gyerekkori fejezetek minden egyes sorából áradt a szeretet, a barátság, a lojalitás, a szerelem. A jelenben játszódó jelenetekből pedig teljes mértékben átjött, hogy a lány mennyire össze van törve belül, mennyire fájdalmas a múlt és mindez anélkül, hogy egy másodpercre is szánalmat keltővé vált volna, hiszen egyébként Charlie egy hihetetlenül kemény lány.

És mikor kiderült, hogy mi is történt a múltban? Na, az összetörte az én szívemet is! Fájt! Nagyon fájt, és együtt könnyeztem Charlieval. És az, hogy ilyen mélyen meg tudtak érinteni ezek az események, az csakis az írónő tehetségének köszönhető.
Különleges megvilágításba helyeződik a könyv azáltal is, hogy az írónő a kötet elején leírja, hogy ez részben igaz történet, az ő saját története. Csak remélni merem, hogy az ő sorsa nem volt ennyire szívet tépő.

A borítót viszont egy picit gyengének találom ehhez a csodálatos könyvhöz. Véleményem szerint ez az ötcsillagos könyv, ötcsillagos borítót érdemelne, mégis nem tudom eléggé ajánlani ezt a könyvet! ❤

 

My Review in English

Okay, this was definitely a five star book, no question! It really engaged me with its secrets, contradictions, the characters, the heartache and the uncountable emotions which flooded from the pages. Do you know that kind of book, where all the puzzle pieces are on the table, but you just don’t see the whole picture yet? This is exactly that kind of book! I was constantly thinking about where the pieces will fit in the end.

The structure of the book is really genius and because of that you get to experience the way all the pieces of the story slowly come together as you read. There are chapters which take places in the past, there are chapters about the present and between them sometimes are police reports. This story was built in a very mysterious and interesting way. First, we learn about a little girl and his best friend in the prologue, and a little later the boy next door joins to them, too. The three of them, Charlotte aka Charlie, Joey and Jase become best friends and they live through really adorable adventures in their tree house and at school. I truly loved the chapters of the past so much! In these we can learn about the three of them, like their situation at home, the really strong connection between them, Charlie’s first love and her passion for drawing.

In the present Charlie is 24 years old and she has a tattoo salon in New York. This part of her life seems amazing, but at the same time we feel, that she is not happy. She has a really jerk and careless boyfriend and if I were her I would totally would have kicked his ass out about a hundred times already. She is not close with anybody, and under the surface she is really disconnected from the world. During the book we get little information pieces about that something that happened in the past, and changed her life when she was 17 years old, and because of this event she lost his two best friends, and the connection with them, too. But she constantly texts with someone who is named „J”, but it is a mystery that who this person is (Joey, Jase or somebody else? ), and we also don’t know how will the police reports fit in the picture at the end.

This story could hold my attention the whole time. The writing style was really stunning and I really loved the main characters. It’s amazing how deep emotions could this story bring out from me. All the chapters about their childhood were full with love, friendship and loyalty, but in the chapters of the present we learn about all the sadness of Charlie and how much broken she is, how painful her past is and all this without evoking pity, because Charlie is a really-really tough girl.

And when it turns out what happened in the past? It just broke my heart, too. It was so painful that it brought tears in my eyes. And all the emotions what I felt showed me how talented the author is. In the beginning of the book, the author writes down that this is partly a true story. Her story. And this fact absolutely brings this book to a whole new emotional level. I could only hope that her life was not so heartbreakingly hard.

I can’t recommend this amazing book enough! ❤
