Synopsis

Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…

That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of just one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past that she wishes could just stay buried.

Magyarországon 2014-ben jelent meg Colleen Hoover – Reménytelen címmel, a Könyvmolyképő Kiadó gondozásában.

Csak annyit mondanék, hogy WOW! Egyszerűen tényleg magával ragadó ez a könyv! Képes voltam késő éjjelig olvasni, aztán hajnalban felkelni, mert nem tudtam kiverni a fejemből még álmomban sem. Colleen Hoover egyszerűen elképesztő! Hamar belopta magát a szívembe és előlépett a kedvenc íróim közé. Mindegyik könyve egytől egyig csodálatos, humoros, elgondolkodtató, szívet tépő és mindig valami új.  Ez a könyve is egy elképesztő érzelmi hullámvasút volt. Sokszor megnevettetett aztán meg pici darabkákra törte a szívemet.

Sky Davis egy 17 éves lány, aki soha nem volt még szerelmes. Soha nem érezte még a pillangókat a gyomrában és nem érez semmit, ha egy fiú megcsókolja. Legalábbis így volt, amíg nem találkozott Dean Holderrel. Holder megtanítja, hogyan szeressen, hogyan érezzen, és végül megtanítják egymást arra, hogyan találják meg újra a reményt. Ez a könyv egy igazi puzzle volt ahol megismerhetjük a szereplők múltját, és hogy mi volt az a dolog, ami egymás útjába terelte őket. Anélkül, hogy spoilereznék csak ennyit árulhatok el, de komolyan mondom, ezt a könyvet mindenkinek el kell olvasnia! Mikor már azt hinnéd, hogy ’ez csak egy nagyon jó, vicces, aranyos romantikus  történet’, egyszer csak úgy meglep, hogy kettőt pislantasz és hirtelen a szakadék alján találod magad.

Imádtam a szereplőket! Sky az egyik legbátrabb, legőszintébb, leghitelesebb karakter, akiről valaha olvastam, és rendkívüli módon inspiráló személyisége van. Holder pedig… Holder határozottan az egyik kedvenc Book Boyfriendem, akit egyszerűen nem lehet nem imádni! Heves volt, adott hideget-meleget, de közben meg humoros és szívbemarkolóan édes. Nagyon megszerettem Sixet és Breckint is aki Sky „legeslegjobb öribarija az egész földkeregségen”. 🙂 Nagyon sokszor megnevettettek. 🙂

Colleen Hoover egy csodálatos történettel ajándékozott meg, ami teljes mértékben megrengette a világomat. A Hopeless egy történet a túlélésről, gyógyulásról, szerelemről, megbocsátásról és reményről.

P.S. A könyvben található szójátékok miatt, erősen ajánlom, hogy aki teheti, olvassa el angolul (is). 🙂

My Review in English

I just want to say – WOW! This story was stunning, mesmerizing, breathtaking and heartbreaking at the same time. I couldn’t put it down for one second while I was reading it! I stayed up almost all night to read this book and after I went to bed I just had to woke up only a few hours later – early in the morning –, because I just couldn’t get it out of my mind in my sleep neither. Colleen Hoover is absolutely amazing! She is one of my all-time favorite authors, and she has a really good sense of humor and a really brilliant writing style.  Sometimes this book made me laugh, sometimes it broke my heart. It was an amazing roller coaster.

Sky Davis is a seventeen-year-old girl, who never been in love before. She hadn’t felt the butterflies and she doesn’t feel anything when a boy kisses her. That was before she met Dean Holder. He teaches her how to love, how to feel, and they teach each other how to find hope again. This book was a big puzzle where we can learn their past and what brought them together. I don’t want to do spoilers, so that is all what I will give to you, but you HAVE TO read this book! Because when you think that ‘this is just a really good, funny, lovable romance’ the author surprises you down the edge of the cliff.

I loved the characters so much! Sky is the bravest, the most honest and the most authentic heroin I have ever met in a book. She is a very inspiring character. Holder is definitely one of my favorite Book Boyfriends, I loved him so much. He was really intense, and he was like hot and cold but he was also really funny and adorable. I also loved Six and Breckin, Sky’s “very bestest friends in the whole wide world”. 🙂 They made me laugh so many times.

Colleen Hoover wrote a beautiful story what absolutely rocked my world.  Hopeless is about surviving, healing, loving, forgiving and having hope.

“Live. If you mix the letters up in the words like and love, you get live. You can use that word.”

“He laughs again, but this time it’s a laugh of relief. He wraps his arms around me and he kisses me with nothing but a hell of a lot of relief. “I live you, Sky,” he says against my lips. “I live you so much.”
