Synopsis

Nagyon nehéz értékelést írni ehhez a történethez, mert egyszerre nagyon szépnek éreztem, ugyanakkor mégsem sikerült annyira elvarázsolnia, mint amit vártam tőle. Ehhez talán az is hozzájárult, hogy nem kell sok ahhoz, hogy az ember kitalálja, hogy mi lesz a csattanó, habár őszintén szólva egy idő után már azt kívántam, hogy ne az legyen. Hogy miért? Mert szerintem ez szimplán elképzelhetetlen. {Nem hiszem el, hogy valaki nemhogy elsőre, de több hét után sem döbben rá, hogy élete szerelme áll előtte. Az rendben van, hogy valamennyire megváltozott az arca, de a szeme? Én biztos, hogy millió közül is ki tudnám választani a szerelmem szemét…} A múltban játszódó jelenetek tetszettek leginkább, nagyon aranyos volt látni, ahogy kibontakozik a két gyermek szerelme. A karakterek tetszettek, bár szinte hihetetlen, hogy létezzen ilyen tökéletes személy, mint Evie, Jake pedig nekem túl erős és irányító jellem volt.

A történet a múltban kezdődik. Evie és Leo egy árvaházban találkoznak, és noha még csak 15 évesek, de szerelembe esnek egymással.  Történetünk kezdetekor Leo-t örökbe fogadják és egy másik városba kell költöznie, de megígéri Evie-nek, hogy amint betöltötte a 18 évet, eljön érte. Azonban Evie hiába várja őt a 18. születésnapján, Leo soha nem érkezik meg.

Nyolc évvel Leo eltűnése után, Evie a városban él egy kis apartmanban. Két állása is van, hogy fizetni tudja a számlákat, mégis boldog, hiszen nagyszerű barátai vannak. Aztán egy napon észreveszi, hogy valaki figyeli őt. Egy idő után kérdőre vonja a férfit, és kiderül, hogy ő Jake, Leo barátja. Sajnos kiderül, hogy Leo életét vesztette egy autóbalesetben, de halála előtt megkérte Jake-et, hogy keresse fel a lányt és nézze meg, hogy minden rendben van-e vele. Jake nagyon jóképű és elbűvölő, így hamar kapcsolat alakul ki kettejük közöttük, de Evie folyamatosan érzi, hogy Jake titkol valamit előle.

Mia Sheridan csodálatosan és igényesen megválasztott szavakkal ír, és szép volt ez a történet is, de azért a sorozat többi kötetéhez nem mérhető. Talán az látszik rajta leginkább, hogy ez még az első regénye volt, de ha így nézzük az írói fejlődése igencsak figyelemreméltó, és tagadhatatlan a tehetsége. Őszintén ajánlom a sorozat többi részét is. Mindegyik más és más, de mindegyik csodálatos!

A Sign of Love sorozatról

A sorozat minden részét egy-egy csillagjegy inspirálta. Mia Sheridan tervezi, hogy mind a 12 csillagjegy könyvét megírja. A Leo az oroszlán, a Stinger a skorpió, az Archer’s Voice a nyilas, a Becoming Calder a vízöntő, a Kyland a bika, a Grayson’s Vow pedig a mérleg jegyében íródott. A kötetetek önállóan olvashatók és nem függenek össze. Mindegyik különböző szereplőkről szól, ez alól kivétel a Leo és a Leo’s Chance valamint a Becoming Calder és a Finding Eden.

I’m in trouble writing this review, because I truly felt that it was a beautiful book although it couldn’t blow me away like I expected. Maybe it is because I could find out pretty soon what will be the twist in the story. After matter of time I truly hoped that it is not the case simply because I think it is absolutely unimaginable. Why? {Because I just can’t believe that somebody not at first, but neither after weeks can’t find out that the men in front of her is her love of her life. Okay his face changed, but his eyes? I believe that I would recognize the eyes of my love.}

I loved the scenes in the past, seeing the two kids fall in love was truly loveable. I liked the characters but I think a perfect personality like Evie’s does not exist (I hope it does, but unfortunately I doubt it), and I think Jake has a too strong and bossy personality which I didn’t like so much.

The story starts in the past. Evie and Leo meet in foster care. They are only 15 years old, but they fall in love with each other. Then Leo gets adopted and he moves to another city. Leo needs to leave Evie behind but he promises to her that he will come for her when she turns 18. Evie waits for him years but he doesn’t come back to her on her 18^th birthday.

Eight years after Leo’s disappearance, Evie lives in the city in a small apartment. She has to work two jobs to pay her bills but she is happy because she has good friends. Than one day she notices that someone is stalking her. When she finally confronts him, it turns out that the man, Jake was Leo’s friend who died in a car accident. And the charming and handsome Jake came to check on her for Leo’s request. Soon a connection develops between Evie and Jake, but the girl constantly feels that Jake keeps something from her.

Mia Sheridan’s writing style is beautiful and stunning and I liked this book, too, but to tell the truth it is not comparable to the later released parts of the series. It was the debut novel of the author so from this perspective her writing development is really remarkable and she has an undeniable talent! I highly recommend the other parts of the series. Every one of them is so unique and wonderful.

About Sign of Love series

Every part of the series was inspired by one of the signs of the zodiac. Mia Sheridan plans to write a book about all of the 12 astrological sign’s. Leo was inspired by the Leo’s-, Stinger the Scorpio’s-, Archer’s Voice the Sagittarius’s-, Becoming Calder the Aquarius’s-, Kyland the Taurus’s-, and Grayson’s Vow the Libra’s legend. They’re all stand-alone stories (except Leo and Leo’s Chance and Becoming Calder and Finding Eden) with no cross over characters or story lines.
