Zene a könyvben – Music in the Book #15

Január 31-én érkezik Jamie McGuire Maddox Testvérek sorozatának utolsó kötete, amely Tyler Maddox történetével búcsúzik. Egy órán belül leleplezésre kerül a Beautiful Burn borítója is, amely meg kell, hogy mondjam, hogy gyönyörű szép és az eddigi kedvencem. 🙂 Úgy gondoltam, hogy ez alkalomból az eheti ’Zene a Könyvben’ bejegyzésem is forogjon a Maddox fiúk körül, amihez egy nagyon vicces jelenetet választottam. 🙂 Ehhez a bejegyzéshez rendhagyó módon egyből három idézettel is készültem. 🙂

A jelenet egy Cami és Trenton közötti kihívásról szól, amelyről összesen három Maddox kötetből legózható össze. 🙂 A Gyönyörű Esküvő és a Gyönyörű Megváltás köteteiben maga a grandiózus jelenetről olvashatunk, míg a Gyönyörű Tévedés az előzményeket meséli el nekünk. Mivel nem volt benne, hogy pontosan melyik Britney Spears számról van szó, ezért megpróbáltam improvizálni, de most is vihogok, ha elképzelem Trentet a tangájában erre a számra vonaglani. 😀

The fourth and final Maddox brother series novel by Jamie McGuire releases on January 31 with Tyler Maddox’s story. In an hour the cover of Beautiful Burn will be revealed and I have to tell you that it is so beautiful, and this cover is my favorite so far. 🙂 I thought that this week’s ‘Music in the Book’ post also should be focused on the Maddox brothers, and I chose a very funny scene for this. 🙂

The scene is about a challenge between Cami and Trent, which could be put together from three different Maddox books. 🙂 In A Beautiful Wedding and Beautiful Redemption we can read about the grandiose scene, while Beautiful Oblivion tells us about the pre-events. Because it didn’t come to light which Britney Spears song plays under the scene, I tried to improvise and I still giggling while I try to imagine Trent in his thong goofing around to this song. 😀

“– Egy nap én is elveszlek téged.
– Majd ha piros hó esik – vigyorogtam.
Vállat vont.
– A havat is meg lehet festeni. Nem gond.
– Na, jó, akkor megyek hozzád, ha Britney Spears egyik dalára táncolsz ágyékkötőben apád előtt.
Hosszan mélyen beszívta a levegőt, aztán hangosan kifújta.
– Elfogadom a kihívást.”

Jamie McGuire: Gyönyörű tévedés

“– Tudom, hogy nem hiszel nekem, de kiskorunk óta tiszta szívből szeretlek – mondta komolyan. – És most addig szeretlek, míg meg nem öregszünk.
Boldog izgalom fogott el. Még soha senki sem szeretett ennyire.
– Esküszöl?
Trenton fáradtan elmosolyodott.
– Igen. És még egyszer megígérem majd ágyékkötőben, egy Britney Spears számra.”

“- Mondtam, hogy ne legyen sztriptíz táncos – mondtam, és megrökönyödve figyeltem, ahogy Trenton körbetáncolta a termet Britney Spears dalára.
Shepley röhögésben tört ki.
– Tudom, testvér, de úgy tűnik a vetkőzés már azelőtt megvolt, hogy ideértünk.
Katasztrófa volt. Az arcom eltorzult az undortól, ahogy figyeltem Trenton-t a termen keresztül ugrabugrálni – bár nem akartam. A teremben mindeni jót derült rajta.
Karton díszek lógtak a mennyezetről, és apám mellett az asztalon még valami francos süti is volt. Voltam már néhány legénybúcsún ezelőtt, de ez megnyerte a legfurább parti díját.
– Hé – lihegte Trenton kifulladva, izzadtan kisöpört pár ritka, sárga hajszálat az arcából.
– Elvesztettél egy fogadást? – kérdeztem.
– Ami azt illeti, igen.
Taylor, és Tyler átvágtak a szobán, a térdüket csapkodva röhögtek, annyira, hogy alig kaptak levegőt.
Rácsaptam Trenton seggére.
– Dögös vagy tesó.
– Kösz – a zene rákezdett, ő pedig felém rázta a csípőjét. Arrébb löktem, de nem szegte a kedvét, áttáncolt a termen, és a tömeget szórakoztatta.”

“I’m going to marry you someday.”
I smiled. “When pigs fly.”
He shrugged. “I can put a pig on a plane. No problem.”
“Okay, when you dance around in a thong to Britney Spears in front of your dad. That’s when we’ll
get married.”
He took in a long, deep breath, and then blew it out. “Challenge accepted.”

“I know you don’t believe me, but I really have loved you since we were kids,” he said quietly.
“And now I get to love you ’til we’re old.”
My stomach fluttered. No one else had ever loved me as much as he did. “Promise?”
Trenton smiled with tired eyes. “Yes. And then I’ll promise you again after I dance around in a thong to Britney Spears.”

“I said no strippers,” I said, watching dumbfounded as Trenton danced around the room to Britney Spears.
Shepley burst into laughter. “I know, brother, but looks like the stripping happened before we got here.”
It was a train wreck. My face screwed into disgust as I watched Trenton bump and grind his way across the room—even though I didn’t want to. Everyone in the room was cheering him on. Cardboard cutouts of tits were hanging from the ceiling, and there was even a booby cake on a table next to my dad. I’d been to several bachelor parties before, and this one had to win some sort of a freak prize.
“Hey,” Trenton said, breathless and sweaty. He pulled a few yellow strands of fake hair from his face.
“Did you lose a bet?” I asked.
“As a matter of fact, I did.”
Taylor and Tyler were across the room, slapping their knees and laughing so hard they could barely breathe.
I slapped Trenton’s ass. “You look hot, bro.”
“Thanks,” he said. The music started and he shook his hips at me. I pushed him away, and, undeterred, he danced across the room to entertain the crowd.”
