Stupid Love by Cindy Miles
(Stupid in Love #3)
Publication date: September 10th 2015
Genres: New Adult, Romance
Synopsis
Bestselling new adult author Cindy Miles is set to capture the hearts of STUPID GIRL fans again with the grand finale of the Stupid in Love series, featuring Memory and Jace.
MEMORY
Casualties.
That’s how I refer to the guys who’ve had the bad fortune to fall for me. They only see long legs that they wish were wrapped around them, a cat-like smile, and the reckless abandon to take on any wild dare. It’s all a game to me. Show me a bridge, and I’ll leap over the side. Give me a car, and I’ll race it. Give me a heart, and I’ll break it. I always win. I even showed Death who was boss a long time ago.
Or so I thought.
Now, time is running out, and I’m losing fast…and big. I met someone. Jace Beaumont. He’s smart, and good, and I dream about spending days exploring the summit of his perfect lips. But, I’m a grenade. I know I should leave him be. I can’t.
JACE
Study, class, work, repeat. That’s all I have time for. At twenty-five years old, I have a bit more mileage on me than the average college freshman. But, that’s what happens when you spend your youth drinking, partying, and bagging girls like it’s a full-time job. Now, I have goals. There’s just one kink in my plans. Her name is Memory. She’s every guy’s dream girl. She’s intoxicating. She’s trouble. I want to stay away. I can’t.
A Stupid Love a Stupid in Love sorozat harmadik kötete, azonban különálló könyvként is olvasható.
Véleményem a könyvről
My Review In English
The Stupid Love is the third part of the Stupid In love series by Cindy Miles, but it can be read as a standalone.
Okay Cindy Miles, you can totally forget what I said about the Stupid Boy, because we totally can be friends again. 🙂 This book was so good! It was humorous and sweet, I loved the characters, I laughed with them and my heart ached for them. I mostly probably could compare this book to Ruin by Rachel Van Dyken, and it also could grab my heart just like that book.
Jace Beaumont (Olivia Beaumont’s brother from Stupid Girl) is down to earth, ambitious, hard-working and not looking for a girlfriend. Only it falls into oblivion when one day Memory Thibodeaux bursts into his life like a tornado. Memory is a truly memorable character: She is tough, humorous and she lives every moment of her life the fullest, she is a real adrenaline junkie. She loves to trick death and she is called the „Winston Daredevil” for a reason. Memory flips Jace’s whole world upside down, who is giving up his quiet life, lets the girl’s hurricane to sweep him toward a real “full” life. But he doesn’t expects that Memory is not completely honest with him, and because of this he doesn’t know what the future will hold for them.
Like I said, the characters were really great. Jace is the handsome cowboy, who is really selfless and thoughtful, and he definitely landed on my book boyfriend list, Memory is a really layered and lovable character and the old Jasper could also stole my heart! 🙂
I really loved this story and although it maybe could have been more perfect, I think it outworked a lot of New Adult books in this category. So no question, five stars again for Cindy Miles. 🙂
My Favorite Quotes From The Book
“Ever hear of Stupid Love, Diary? Yeah, of course you have. It’s the kind of stuff you were made for.”
“What scares you the most?” he asked, and the moonlight fell on his face, throwing half of it into shadows, the other half into abstract planes and sharp angles. He had a mouth shaped for long, slow kisses, and a strong jaw that made me ball my hands into fists to keep from touching it. And that everpresentdusting of dark scruff.
I cleared my throat and thought about it. “The obvious answer for anyone is probably dying,” I dared to say. “But that’s not it.”
“What is it, then?” Jace asked.
I looked him in the eye, held his gaze with mine, and smiled the most sincere of smiles. “Not living.”
“Cute wasn’t the word. Jace…whatever his last name was, had all the mouth-watering swagger of a cowboy. Sexy as all rotting, stinking hell. Tall, with broad shoulders and a bow-legged arrogance to his walk. Green eyes.
But his voice—butter and rasp and sensual all rolled into one.
Too bad he was an arrogant ass.
Good thing I could handle arrogant asses. I was like…the Arrogant Ass Whisperer.“
“My fucking ovaries just started breakdancing,” Brie said. “Old school style. Like, 1984.”
“What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done?”
“Landed a plane with a failed engine in a cotton field.”
My jaw dropped. “You’re a pilot?”
Jace’s smile was crooked and cute as hell. “Since I was seventeen. I run a crop-dusting business during the summer and fall months.”
I studied him. “Wow. Pilot. Talk about sexy impressive.” I cocked my head. “Two: What’s the most daring thing you have yet to do?”
Jace stared at the boards between his feet for several seconds as he thought about the question.
Then he looked up, and the porch light caught in his eyes, and they turned to glass as he answered me.
“Probably fall for a girl when I had no intentions of falling for her.”
I smiled at him, and felt my cheeks grow warm. Butterflies beat the inside of my stomach like there was no tomorrow.”
“And a buttery-voiced, muscular, bow-legged cowboy with soulful eyes recognised a quote from Titanic, and gave me a grin. Yeah, thats when I fell for Jace Beaumont.
Only, I didn’t really know it.
Not until it was way, way too late.”
