Nagyon sajnálom, de úgy tűnik, hogy ez egyszerűen nem az én könyvem volt… Csalódott vagyok, mert közel sem ért fel ez a könyv az elvárásaimhoz. Ahogy megláttam, máris elcsábított ez a lélegzetelállító borító, és alig vártam, hogy olvashassam, de szerintem még soha nem olvastam olyan könyvet, amiben az összes szereplőt ennyire nem kedveltem volna. A főszereplőlány Olivia, nagyon önző volt és éretlen volt, mindkét srác aki után epekedett , -és azt akarta, hogy egyszerre csapják neki a szelet-, idegesítő volt és enyhén szólva sem volt főnyeremény, az ex-legjobb barátnő egy buta ribi, az anyja pasija pedig „kiráztőleahideg” creep. Az egyedüli szereplő, akit talán egy kicsit megkedveltem, Amanda volt, de csak mert róla alig tudtunk meg valamit.
A történet főszereplője Olivia, aki az apukájánál töltött nyári szünet után érkezik haza. Azonban hamar rá kell jönnie, hogy semmi sem úgy van már, mint az elutazása előtt. A legjobb barátnője, Emily a szünetben elkezdett partizni, inni, fiúkkal aludni, és közel sem az a lány már, akit Olivia otthon hagyott. Olivia másik legjobb barátja Dustin, szintén furcsán viselkedik, főként mivel Liv és Dustin még a lány elutazása előtt kavart egy kicsit, de Dustin határozottan többet szeretne, mint a “csak barátok” státusz. De mégis a legnagyobb problémát Em legújabb pasija, Ryan jelenti, aki Olivia-ra is szemet vetett. Folyton flörtöl a lánnyal, és őt is be szeretné csábítani az ágyába, amely érthető módon tovább fokozza a négyőjük közötti feszültséget.
Én egyszerűen nem akarom elhinni, hogy Amerikában ennyire végletekig felelőtlenül és klisésen viselkednek a 17 évesek, de annyi hazugság, kavarás, italozás, drogok és szex van ebben a könyvben, mint égen a csillag. Egyébként nagyon sokat vártam ettől a „mature YA” kategóriától, mert azt gondoltam, hogy végre ez egy olyan könyv lesz, ami nem annyira nagyon „tini”. De sajnos nagyot tévedtem. A szereplők 17 évesek mégis annyi felelőtlen, éretlen butaságot csinálnak, hogy komolyan nagyon idegesítő volt. A lány folyamatosan csak nyafog, és annyira unszimpatikus volt, hogy nem tudtam drukkolni se neki, se egyik fiúnak sem.
A legrosszabb mégis az volt, mikor rá kellett döbbennem, hogy a történet függővéggel ér véget… 🙁 Nagyon sajnálom, mert tényleg szeretni akartam ezt a könyvet, és az írónő egészen jó stílussal ír, de sajnos ez most nekem nem jött be.

I’m so sorry but it seems that this was just not my book… I am a little disappointed, because this book didn’t lived up to my expectations. I fell in love with the beautiful cover the second when I saw it, so I couldn’t wait to read it. But I really didn’t like the characters. I think the heroine was selfish and immature, both of the guys who wanted to be her with were annoying and neither of them was a jackpot at all, the ex-best friend was a stupid b*tch, and the boyfriend of her mother was a creep… The one person who I liked a little was Amanda, but just because we didn’t learn much about her.
The story is about Olivia, who arrives home after she spent the summer with her dad, but nothing is as the way before she left. Her best friend, Em started partying hard, now she drinks a lot, sleeps with boys, and she is far from the girl who Olivia left behind. Olivia’s other best friend, Dustin is acting strange too, mostly because Liv and Dustin messed around a few times before the girl left and Dustin clearly wants more than the “just friends” status. But the biggest problem is that Em’s new sleeping buddy, Ryan has an eye for Olivia too, and he flirts with her continuously what causes even more tension between the four of them.
There were so much lie, so much messing around, drinking, drugs and sex on the pages that I was truly shocked, and it was so annoying. The characters were only 17 years old, but did so much stupid and irresponsible things. Olivia was really irritating, she always complained about everything, and she was really unsympathetic, so I just couldn’t root for her or any of the guys.
But the worst part still was when I realized that this book ends with a cliffhanger… 🙁 I am so sorry, because I truly wanted to love this book, and the writing itself was pretty good, but it just didn’t work for me this time…
