Synopsis

It doesn’t feel right. It doesn’t feel wrong. It just…feels.

Cunning, an art history major, dates musicians. Foster Blake, a chemical engineering major, can’t sing a tune. They’re not each other’s type. They’re coworkers.

Véleményem a könyvről

Annyira-annyira jó volt! Végre a főhősünk nem egy alfa hím volt, és nem is sérült lelkű fiatalokról szólt a történet, amely üdítő változatossággént hatott, és habár szeretem ezeket a könyveket is, azért néha már annyira jó valami mást olvasni. :)) Helyette kaptam egy kocka vegyészmérnök srácot, és egy szókimondó, szarkasztikus, humoros lányt, akik kipróbálják magukat egy „barátság extrákkal” kapcsolatban. Egyszerűen imádtam minden sorát!

Evelyn (EJ) és Foster (aka Fozzie ahogy EJ viccesen becézi), nem is lehetnének különbözőbbek. EJ művészettörténet szakon tanul az egyetemen, és a festés és a szobrászat a mindene. Ez a szenvedélye, amelybe menekül, de a gazdag szülei soha nem engedték, hogy igazán kibontakozhasson ezen a területen, és egyáltalán nem ezt a pályát szánják neki. Foster egy szexi, szuperkocka mérnök. 🙂 Ő mindig két lábbal jár a földön, és mindig mindenben a logikát keresi.
Evelyn elsőéves korától kezdve dolgozik az egyetemi főkönyvtárban segítőként, de mikor átirányítják a műszaki könyvtárba, nemcsak az állítja kihívás elé, hogy gőze sincs a műszaki dolgokról, de az új kollégája Foster sem várja első perctől kezdve tárt karokkal. 🙂 Mivel Evelyn nem az a típusú lány, akit könnyen le lehet rázni, így hamar kialakul közöttük egy barátság, szarkasztikus humorral és évődésekkel fűszerezve. Miután egy este egy bárban Evelyn összefut Foster-rel és a barátaival, egy ivós játékot követően egyik dolog követi a másikat, és reggel egy ágyban találják magukat. 🙂

Evelyn határozottan nem a kocka mérnök típusú srácokra bukik, és Foster-nek sincs ideje barátnőre a sűrű időbeosztása mellett, így nem is gondolnak többet az egy éjszakás kalandnál. De aztán mégiscsak elkezdik vonzani egymást, mint lepkét a láng, és végül kialakul közöttük egy „barátság extrákkal”-típusú kapcsolat.

Nagyon-nagyon tetszett az a mód, ahogy a művészet és a kémia találkozott. A könyvben voltak érdekes kísérletek, különleges műalkotások és műszaki érdekességek, és az írónő mindezt nagyon szép módon tudta összekapcsolni.

A szereplőket egyszerűen imádtam! Evelyn olyan típusú lány, akinek semmilyen filtere nincs, aki kimond mindent, ami eszébe jut, és akin nagyon-nagyon jókat lehet nevetni. Foster szintén egy nagyon humoros karakter, ráadásul kettejük között igazán működött a kémia, úgyhogy e téren igazán nem lehet okunk panaszra. 😉 Szintén nagyon bírtam Evelyn legjobb barátját, Wolfgang-ot, néha igazán jó beszólásai voltak. 🙂

Az írónő stílusa kiváló volt, és úgy gondolom, hogy a humor és forró jelenetek mellett, mélységeket is tartogatott a könyv. Ez a történet a korlátok és skatulyák leküzdéséről, az ellentétek vonzásáról és önmagunk megvalósításáról szólt. A könyv végéről nagyon hiányzott egy epilógus, de a Goodread-es értékelésem után. kb. 5 perccel kaptam egy privát üzenetet az írónőtől, amiben elküldte az epilógus és néhány extra jelenet elérhetőségét, szóval most már ezzel kapcsolatban sem panaszkodhatok. 😀 (Habár én személy szerint elég cheesy-nek találtam az epilógust :D)

My Review in English

It was sooo good and so refreshing! Finally it was not about broken young souls and an alpha hero (although I love those books too, but sometimes it so good to read something different. :)). Instead it was about a geeky engineer and a humorous, sarcastic heroine and their ‘friends with benefits’ relationship. I laughed so much, and I loved every single page of it. 🙂

Evelyn (EJ) and Foster (aka Fozzie as EJ calls him) couldn’t been more different. EJ is on art history major and the art means everything to her. The paintings and the statuaries are her escape.  Art is her passion but her wealthy parents never let her blossom out on this field, because this is not that they want as her future. In contrast Foster is an engineer. A sexy, geeky engineer. 🙂 He always has both feet on the ground and he always tries to find logic in everything.

Evelyn had been working in the Library at the campus since her freshmen year. When she was transferred from the main library to the engineering library, her newest challenge is not just that she hasn’t got a clue about engineering and science, but she also can’t make a great first impression with her new colleague, Foster. But Evelyn is not that kind of girl who you can get rid of easily, so only after a little time the ice breaks and they become friends. But one night the two of them run into each other at a bar, and after a drinking game goes too far, they find themselves in the same bed in the morning. 🙂

Evelyn had never gone for nerdy engineers and Foster also doesn’t want a girlfriend because of his busy schedule, so neither of them thinks it was more than a one night stand. But despite they are the opposite of each other, they start to attract one another like a moth to a flame again and again, and at the end a “friends with benefits” type of relationship unfolds between them.

I really-really loved how the art and science collided in this book. There were fascinating experiments and amazing works of arts and it was incredible how the author could unite these two so different things.

I also loved the characters so much! Evelyn is the type of girl who has no filter at all, who says everything what comes in her mind and I laughed a lot about her crazy ramblings. 🙂 Foster is a very humorous character too, and there was a lot of hot chemistry between them. 😉 I also loved Evelyn’s best friend Wolfgang, and his witty comments. 🙂

The writing style was pretty great and I think that besides the hot scenes this book also has some messages. I think this book was about the way how to fight for our dreams and it was about self-realization. I really missed an epilogue but with the help of the author I found it on her blog among some awesome extra scenes, so I can’t complain about this either anymore. (Although I found the epilogue a little cheesy. :D) (You can find the links below. ) So conclusion: it was perfect! 🙂

PS: I love this beautiful cover! I really would like to see it in live one day! 🙂
