He was an up-and-coming country singer.
She was the last girl you’d ever see in a bar.
But one night, under those neon lights,
Lucky and Katie found each other.
Beginnings are always exciting.
Always fun. Always hopeful.
Katie was in her last year of college.
Lucky was still playing local stages.
She fell for his voice. She fell for his words.
They fell in love.
It was beautiful.
But time changed their world.
She was alone. He was on the road.
Life happened.
And that love was torn apart.
Endings are always painful.
Always heart wrenching.
But not always final.
One day, Lucky came back to Katie.
And this is their story.

My Review in English
Every book written by SD Hendricson has a special atmosphere, which makes me feel these books are screaming for a movie screen. These are the kind of stories I can imagine that I sit down at home with the family and we could together take part in the emotional journey of the characters, and maybe after everyone went to sleep, I’d put the film back and secretly re-watch it, and this time I’d freely let my tears fall.
Like all of the amazing books of the author, My Lucky Days was also a slow-building, beautiful story where the sweet and adorable moments beautifully collided with the heart crushing ones. There were so many emotions: grief and happiness, life-long loves and second chances. It was a really stunning story with amazing characters, beautiful thoughts and unique, mesmerizing song lyrics.
The main character of the story is Katie, who had to move from one place to another in her whole life because of her parents’ job, but then she finally finds her home during her college years in a small town in Oklahoma. She meets Landon “Lucky” Evans in this little town. He is a young, aspiring country singer, and he has the talent to find his way into everyone’s heart with just one kind smile. Katie and Lucky meet at a local bar where Lucky is performing at Halloween night. The spark between them is immediately there and Lucky’s charm sweeps Katie off of her feet, but Lucky doesn’t know yet that archiving his dreams is not far at all. The question is: Could the sudden blooming of Lucky’s career stand in a way of the overwhelming love what develops between him and Katie?
I truly loved it! I was pulled into the world of the country music and I was enchanted by the unique atmosphere of the book. I felt like I was living the character’s dreams with them, I felt that their happy moments-, their tears-, their pasts-, their scars-, and their grief were also mine. I loved how the music gave a deeper layer to the story. SD Hendricson was able to create beautiful harmonies from the chaos of the music notes only by using her mesmerizing words. I loved the characters so much, especially Lucky of course. He swept me off my feet with his honest, wonderful heart, but I truly loved all of the characters. For me the ending of the book felt a little rushed but in spite of it, this beautiful second chance story stole my heart. <3
My favorite Quotes From the Book
“I saw through the jokes. I saw the real Lucky. (…) When he loved, he loved hard.”
I smiled, feeling the honesty of his words. “Someone once told me that anything is possible if you want it bad enough.”
“Sounds like a really awesome guy.”
“He is,” I whispered.
“You should put that in a song,” I whispered. “Might make you famous.”
“Maybe.” I heard him laugh as he held me a little tighter. “Or maybe I just want to say it to you.”
I woke up sometime later to the sound of my phone buzzing next to me. Peering at the screen, I saw Lucky’s name. I answered with a grin. “Hey.”
“Hey.”
I imagined him sitting in his house in Nashville with his sexy smile and messy hair. And that image was better than all the other images I’d had today.
“Did I wake you up?”
“No, I’m watching TV. Well, I kind of fell asleep in here, I guess.” I glanced at the clock, and it said one-thirty in the morning.
“So you are sleeping on the couch instead of out with your roommates?”
“How do you know they aren’t home?”
I heard his chuckle. “Same reason I know you are wrapped in a brown blanket.”
I jumped up from the couch and spun around in a circle. And then I saw Lucky, looking into the house through the dining room window. The rush I felt was bigger than I expected. A high that drowned out all the other feelings. “How long have you been watching me?”
“Well, long enough to see that you probably snore because your mouth was wide open. And I think you drool too.”
“No . . .” I shut my eyes. “Get in here.”
I hung up and went to the door. He was already on the steps by the time I had it open.
“So I was in the neighborhood.” He grinned. “Thought I would stop by.”
The flutters in my chest held me captive. Lucky might be the star, but right now, I felt like all the lights in the world had shifted their focus onto me.
Before I could say a word, Lucky pulled me into his arms as he kissed me hard, grinding his mouth against mine. He was holding me, running his hands over my body, into my hair, against my cheek.I knew in that moment, the inevitable lonely ache that was destined to follow our relationship would be worth the torment—if those days allowed me to experience this mind-consuming rush of happiness that came each time he returned home.
